Hey! My name is Penny.
I'm new here.
Not, "here," as in the Internet, but "here" as in my city.
My new city. Salem, Oregon.

I grew up in the Midwest. I spent my twenties bouncing around different cities. Different states. Different countries. And now, for the first time, I find myself in a place where I could finally start "settling down," whatever that means. It weird, and kind of scary.

But Salem seems like a nice place.
And the nickname "the Cherry City" can only be a good thing.
I mean, fruit is nice.

So, as a way of getting to know this New Place, I thought I'd do what many a millennial does in such times as these: I thought I'd blog about it.

A place to record my discoveries, brag about my adventures, and to celebrate the cool & fun & weird.

And the Cherry City could use some love.
